Know Your Normal - Emma Jackson from Micrima
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, take charge of your own health
Emma Jackson from Micrima:
The following link takes people to a digital platform with plenty of resources to provide further information, and to guide people on the Mi~Scan and Mi~Score concepts.
We are always looking for Service Delivery Partners and I would be delighted to offer further information to any of your network who might be interested.
We can also provide ‘pop-up’ Scanning Days to workforces or client bases for business owners, along with tailored breast awareness and breast health education sessions.
As we discussed, we are launching a wholly novel concept to the population, and it takes time to grow adoption – Micrima is committed to improving breast health education and improving outcomes for women of all ages.
Answers to questions that came up.
Exclusions to using the device:
We cannot use the device on augmented breasts - we don’t have enough data to prove statistically relevant – just the same reason we cannot scan a male breast. Implants have many technical obstacles to consider – the material used for the implant, the position of the implant etc, and this would need further evaluation before being approved by the regulatory body.
Conductive tattoos (these glow in the dark and are often used during radiotherapy treatment)
Nipple piercing (unless they can be removed)
Implanted electrical devices (eg pacemaker/defibrillator)
Breasts having undergone biopsy in the last 5 days
The scan can be booked at Body & Sole Wellness Centre, 10 Algitha Road, Skegness PE25 2AG, and Micrima’s website provides a link to access this.
The offer for October is automatically applied.
