We are really excited to introduce you our latest new Area Partner Tracy Cleaver from Happiness4U who will be running the Peterborough Meetings.
Where do you live?
What do you do?
I’m self-employed as a Laughter Yoga Leader and currently in the process of setting up my new business called Happiness4U – which promotes positive mental wellbeing by offering a range of different courses and workshops to enable them to live a happier life and find their happiness.
I also have another business called the Sweetheart Party Company where I offer traditional tea parties for all occasions and lots more including wellbeing tea parties such as crafternoon, mindfulness & “postivitea” parties, along with my exclusive “Laughternoon” Tea party combining the traditional tea party along with a laughter yoga session. Earlier in 2019 I voluntarily set up a community café: Peterborough Community Happy Café in Eye village promoting wellbeing promoting the 10 keys to Happiness as part of the Happy Café Network supported by Action for Happiness charity in the UK.
How does that benefit your clients?
Laughter Yoga increases laughter and mood by changing your mood quickly by releasing endorphins. It can reduce stress and strengthen the immune system. Happiness4U will offer clients the opportunity to identify positive solutions to improve their happiness through 1:1s, group work and workshops by offering laughter yoga and other fun and creative interactive sessions whilst understanding the science behind happiness.
What led you to this career path?
I’ve always been an advocate for positive mental health and well-being whilst working for the past 18 years with children & families in the children’s social care arena both in the public and voluntary sectors. I was also a health improvement champion in my last job role which focused on staff physical and mental well-being. I took voluntary redundancy in 2018, to care for my parents, and It was whilst I was attending a carers event I discovered laughter yoga and decided to train as I thought It would be a good opportunity to continue my passion for promoting well-being (Nothing that my wicked laugh has anything to do with it though)!! I realised that I had many transferable skills I had already thought about setting up my tea party business too so when this opportunity came along with laughter yoga I decided to take the plunge with both so that I could balance my caring role whilst continuing to build my business enabling me to have the flexibility and a better work/life balance. I’ve since now decided to focus not just on laughter yoga but the outcome of happiness hence the business name of Happines4U.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m excited I’ve started to work with some charities and community groups in delivering my happiness workshops alongside laughter yoga and continuing over the next few months and into 2020. I’m also looking at delivering some regular laughter yoga in the community in the near future so watch this space. I’m particularly also going to be looking at developing into the corporate field and promoting wellness in the workplace and offering some lunchtime yoga clubs as it’s a known fact that happy workforce = better productivity and better outcomes for businesses. I’m also confident the Community Happy Café will go from strength to strength and increase in volunteers and develop as a community owned, locally delivered partnership, offering people more awareness about positive mental health and well-being over a nice cuppa!
What are you most looking forward to as an Area Partner with the Wellness Network?
I’m so passionate about my work and believe that with building networks and relationships with wellness practitioners and businesses we can support each other, collaborate and offer the communities we live and work in a better lifestyle towards improved health outcomes.
Where and when are your meetings going to be held?
Meetings will be held monthly on the 3rd Tuesday commencing 15 October 2019, 7.00pm - 9.00pm at the Cambridgeshire Wellness Clinic, 48 Papyrus Road, Werrington, Peterborough.
